No. 3 St. Augustine has scored 87 points or more in four of their first five games

After two weeks of games, it's time to take a look at the updated boys basketball rankings in the CIF San Diego Section.

SBLive’s San Diego Section high school boys basketball rankings are compiled by SBLive California reporter Bodie DeSilva and will be released each week throughout the 2023-24 season.

1. Carlsbad (2-1)

Next game: 12/6 at Mission Vista

Last week: 1

After an opening loss to nationally-ranked Harvard-Westlake, the Lancers took down Pacifica Christian and Santa Margarita last week. They'll have this week off before two games next week including a showdown at St. Augustine.

2. Montgomery (7-0)

Next game: 12/5 vs. Mission Hills

Last week: 2

The Aztecs have won six of their first seven games by double digits, defeating La Jolla Country Day for the Buccaneers Thanksgiving Classic title on Saturday.

3. St. Augustine (5-0)

Next game: 12/2 vs. La Jolla Country Day

Last week: 3

The Saints opened with four blowout victories before sneaking past Mission Hills on Saturday, 73-68. They'll take on top 10 opponents in La Jolla Country Day and Carlsbad over their next two games.

4. Torrey Pines (3-1)

Next game: 12/2 vs. JW North

Last week: 4

The Falcons traveled to Oakland over the weekend and emerged with a 64-53 victory against Sacramento-Inderkum.

5. Cathedral Catholic (4-0)

Next game: 11/30 at Patrick Henry

Last week: 6

Cathedral Catholic opened the season with four wins in five days, beating Scripps Ranch in the Kings of the North tournament title.

6. Mission Hills (3-1)

Next game: 11/29 vs. Santa Fe Christian

Last week: 7

Mission Hills led at halftime against No. 3 St. Augustine on Saturday before falling to the Saints, 73-68. They'll take on No. 9 Santa Fe Christian in their home opener on Wednesday night.

7. La Jolla Country Day (5-2)

Next game: 12/2 at St. Augustine

Last week: NR

The Torreys advanced to the championship of the Mission Bay tournament falling to unbeaten Montgomery in the final. They'll get another top five test at No. 3 St. Augustine on Saturday.

8. Mission Bay (4-3)

Next game: 12/1 vs. Hoover

Last week: 5

The Buccaneers are working their football players back into the fold and closed out their own tournament with wins over University City and Del Norte.

9. Santa Fe Christian (2-2)

Next game: 11/29 at Mission Hills

Last week: 8

The Eagles dropped their final two games at the Mission Bay tournament, losing to La Jolla Country Day and Rancho Christian by two points each. They'll be on the road at Mission Hills and Santa Margarita this week.

10. Hoover (3-1)

Next game: 12/1 at Mission Bay

Last week: NR

Hoover has made their way into this week's rankings following three wins last week including a 77-71 victory over La Costa Canyon.
