LA VERNE, CALIFORNIA - The Classic at Damien began Tuesday, but the Platinum and Gold Divisions started Wednesday.

Below you’ll see the final score, notable stats and some highlights from each game in each division.

Thursday, Dec. 28 winner's side schedule for Platinum and Gold bracket at Damien High:

4 p.m.: Roosevelt-Owyhee (ID) 

5:30 p.m.: Damien-De La Salle 

7 p.m.: Salesian-Centennial 

8:30 p.m.: Bosco-American Fork (UT) 

GOLD 

3:30 p.m.: St. Bernard-Dixie (UT) 

5 p.m.: Jesuit-West Ranch 

6:30 p.m.: St. Pius-Redondo 

8 p.m.: Rancho Chr.-San Ramon Valley

PLATINUM

St. John Bosco 80, Clovis North 60

SBLive’s No. 1 team moved to 11-1 thanks to the play of Brandon McCoy, Kade Bonam and Elzie Harrington. McCoy had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Bonam had 23 points and Harrington notched eight points and eight assists.

The Braves will play American Fork in the quarterfinals Thursday at 8:30 p.m.

Corona Centennial 48, Basha (AZ) 45

The Huskies already have six losses this season, albeit against high-level programs, they need to tread lightly if they want to make the Open Division playoffs.

A win over Basha builds Centennial's case.

Arizona-signee Carter Bryant had 17 points and six rebounds, and UCLA-bound guard Eric Freeny added 16 points in the win.

American Fork (UT) 56, Heritage Christian 44

Tiger Cuff, a Weber State commit, was a standout in this Platinum Division opener. The 6-foot-3 guard had 15 points, including three 3s. Justin Thorpe added 12 in the win.

Heritage Christian’s Dillan Shaw had 21 points and Tae Simmons added 19 in the loss. Just two other players scored for Heritage Christian — Roman Fisher (2) and Josiah Nance (2). 

De La Salle 72, Campbell Hall 62

De La Salle junior Alec Blair was impressive in the victory, notching 23 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to keep the Spartans unbeaten this season.

Campbell Hall’s Isaiah Johnson led the Vikings with 27 points. Campbell Hall’s James Bass made his debut after serving a sit-out period due to transfer. He had six points, eight rebounds and three blocks.

De La Salle will play Damien at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Salesian 70, Windward 66

De’Undrae Perteete led Salesian with 19 points and Gavin Hightower led the Wildcats with 20 points with four steals.

Salesian will play the winner of Centennial-Basha (AZ) at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Owyhee (ID) 64, La Mirada 57

One of the best games of the date featured a matchup between senior Liam Campbell, headed to USC, and freshman Gene Roebuck of La Mirada.

Campbell finished with 12 points and Roebuck had 34, but Campbell’s team will move on to play Eastvale Roosevelt at 4 p.m.

Eastvale Roosevelt 68, Branson 64

Brayden Burries had a game-high 29 points, including 10 (of 14) free throws. The 5-star recruit was 6 of 8 from the line in the final frame. He also had a pivotal basket with 30 seconds left to give the Mustangs a one-point lead.

Roosevelt junior Issac Williamson added 17 points while Branson’s Jase Butler had 25 points in the loss.

Damien 80, Sunnyslope (AZ) 75 (OT)

Nate Garcia scored 22 points and nabbed 16 rebounds in a gutty win for the Spartans. 

Xavier Clinton had 20 points, all in the second half.

GOLD

West Ranch 73, Curtis (WA) 65

Tracy Bryden, a transfer from Faith Baptist, made an impressive debut after serving a sit-out period. The 6-foot-10 center notched 17 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in the Wildcats’ win.

Redondo Union 63, Dublin 62

Dublin’s Jalen Stokes had a game-high 25 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Devin Ringer’s 20 and freshman Chris Sanders’ 15 for Redondo.

Ringer made all eight free throw attempts in the fourth quarter to help seal the game. Four of the makes came in the final minute.

Rancho Christian 55, Hillcrest (ID) 52

Jayden Smoot led Rancho Christian with 15 points and Jaiden Agbo added 12. Gavin Hepworth had 15 for Hillcrest.

St. Pius 69, Lone Peak (UT) 52

The Warriors pick up where they left off after winning the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas. Tyrone Riley led St. Pius with 18 points in the victory.

Dixie (UT) 57, Etiwanda 56

The Eagles fall despite Christian Harris scoring 22 points.
