Arizona basketball coach Tommy Lloyd watching 5-star Brayden Burries

Tommy Lloyd was in Corona to watch Roosevelt junior Brayden Burries

CORONA, CALIFORNIA - It’s not rare to see UCLA coach Mick Cronin or USC’s Andy Enfield in a high school basketball gym in Southern California.

But it was Arizona men’s basketball coach Tommy Lloyd in attendance for the Big VIII league showdown between Eastvale Roosevelt and Corona Centennial Tuesday night.

Lloyd’s Wildcats are currently ranked No. 8 in the country, but he’s on the prowl for more talent, of course. He already signed Centennial’s Carter Bryant, but his eyes are on Roosevelt’s 2025 prospect Brayden Burries.

Burries has been officially offered by Arizona, but also holds offers to Duke, Houston, Texas and UCLA.

Burries is a 5-star guard ranked among the top juniors in the country. Burries, along with standouts Issac Williamson (also a junior) and senior Darnez Slater (Colorado State commit), has the Mustangs currently ranked No. 1 in the latest SBLive CIF Southern Section rankings.

The Mustangs are 18-1 after winning the Classic at Damien Platinum Division on Dec. 30.
