Preseason boys basketball Top 25 photo shoot: A closer look at No. 1 Montverde Academy

Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.), which begins the season ranked No. 1 in the SBLive Sports / Sports Illustrated Power 25 preseason boys basketball rankings, looks primed to make a run at its second national crown in three seasons.

The Eagles finished 23-3 last season after losing in the quarterfinals of the GEICO Nationals.

Montverde Academy is led by senior Cooper Flagg, who is ranked the nation’s No. 1 player in the class of 2024. The Eagles' senior class has four five-star recruits including Flagg.

Florida-based photographer Matt Christopher staged a preseason photo shoot for SBLive Sports with coach Kevin Boyle and his players.

The Eagles tipped off the 2023-24 season on Monday night with an 88-53 victory over Wasatch Academy in the 5 for the Flight two-day showcase in Utah.
