Vote: Who is the South Suncoast Softball Player of the Week (3/12/2024)?

We have eight candidates for you to choose from

The Florida High School Softball season is in full swing and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.

As such, we have eight athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s South Suncoast Florida high school softball player of the week award from March 4-March 9, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 17th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Congratulations to last week’s winner:

Jade Carnahan, Inspiration Academy

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are the nominees:

Madison Duncan, Cardinal Mooney: The senior third baseman had a big night in the Cougars’ 12-0 win over Keswick Christian, notching two triples and driving in a run.

Kaydence Evans, Braden River: The Pirates’ sophomore tallied four hits, four runs driven in and a triple in a 27-0 win over Southeast.

Makenna Lee, Palmetto: Lee brought her best stuff to the mound in a 3-1 win over Sarasota, going eight innings, allowing two hits and striking out 11 batters.

Rylee Little, Parrish Community: Little went the distance in the Bulls’ 9-1 win over Sumner, allowing just four hits, one run and striking out 11.

Ella Aylsworth, Sarasota Christian: The sophomore had a huge night in the Blazers’ 35-15 win over Family Christian Academy, notching four hits and driving in six runs.

Haven Powell, Family Christian Academy: Despite being on the losing end to Sarasota Christian, Powell tallied three hits and drove in five runs.

Riley Sullivan, Venice: Sullivan led the charge in the Indians’ 8-4 win over Charlotte, notching three hits, one of them a double, and two runs driven in.

Jaylin Pinedo, Port Charlotte: Pinedo is back on our list again after a big night in Port Charlotte’s 8-7 win over Cypress Lake, tallying three doubles and four runs batted in.
