THREE TO SEE
Garrett Holden, wide receiver
A route-running technician with deceptive speed, he’s lone returning all-league player
Kenan Quill, all-purpose
Jack of all trades -- and skills -- he will play slot receiver, quarterback and running back
Exavier Bonifacio, linebacker
Sometimes he plays too fast in the middle, but nobody questions his heart, passion
OUTLOOK
Siddick, who replaces Joel Vincent after 21 seasons, played football in the teeth-chattering snow in Montana as part of Carroll College’s 2010 NAIA national championship team.
He loves power football. And that is what the Timberwolves will continue to do in his debut season.
Except Siddick plans on a strong rushing attack out of spread formations -- and he has a deep set of pass catchers defenses have to worry about on the perimeter in Holden, Quill, Joseph and Tran, all of whom are apt blockers.
The Timberwolves’ running backs -- Brendan Sandico, Jack Barclay and Josh Aho -- are capable but unproven.
Opposing coaches point to Jackson as the league’s “sleeping giant” with its talent and tradition, having won four 4A Wesco titles in five seasons (2008-10, 2012) in the past decade.
