In a game filled with sparkling defense and aggressive base-running, one big swing was the difference Monday night at Pace Academy.
Pace senior Paul Ramseur blasted a towering shot to right, flipped his bat and took a celebratory stroll around the bases with a game-ending three-run homer.
His teammates were waiting at home plate to mob Ramseur, who went 2-for-4, stole a base and drove in five in the Knights' 7-4 win over Lovett.
Lucas Klopp pitched two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win, and the Pace defense made several dazzling plays to get Klopp and starter RJ Austin out of jams.
Pace (19-3, 8-0) took command of Region 6-2A ahead of Lovett (18-5, 7-1) heading into the region scramble this week.
