Vote: Who has been the best freshman quarterback in Georgia so far in 2023?

We’ve plucked out nine freshmen quarterbacks in Georgia that have stood out this season.

We are just past the mid-point part of the high school football season here in the Peach State and there’s no shortage of underclassmen performing at a high level. It’s no surprise that freshmen are showing out in Georgia as that’s been the case in the past many times over. This list of underclassmen features some of the top signal callers we’ve seen or have been on the rise in Georgia. Take a look at our list and vote for who you feel has been the top performing freshman quarterback in Georgia.

Lyndon Worthy, Worth County: Worthy is the state’s leading passer among all freshmen as the quarterback has completed 86-of-140 passes for 1,317 yards, 13 touchdowns and just five interceptions. 

Teddy Jarrard, North Cobb Christian: Playing against solid competition week in and week out, Jarrard has been impressive. The signal caller has completed 91-of-148 passes for 1,148 yards and 11 touchdowns. 

Jr Harris, Central: Harris has one of the top quarterback ratings (108.0) of any the freshmen on this list. The quarterback has completed 64-of-92 passes for 819 passes and eight touchdowns. 

Cutler Fleming, Briarwood Academy: The Briarwood Academy signal caller has completed 56 percent of his passes this season for 611 yards and eight touchdowns. 

Joseph Owens, Montgomery County: Looking away from the interceptions (8), Owens has played well under center for Montgomery County. The quarterback has completed 60-of-120 passes for 671 yards and six touchdowns. 

Caleb Hill, Lithonia: Another quarterback on the freshmen scene that’s started to light it up is Hill, who has completed 25-of-37 passing for 474 yards and six touchdowns, just one interception. 

Knox Israel, Mt. Zion: Israel has been very efficient in his starts for Mt. Zion, throwing for 432 yards, five touchdowns and zero interceptions through four games. 

Zavion DeShazier, Mount De Sales Academy: Though DeShazier has only thrown four touchdowns this season, his production yardage wise is one of the best in the state. DeShazier has thrown for 733 yards and completed 55-of-108 passing.
