The Match-up:

Surprise, surprise. Cedar Grove is back in the Class 3A state finals for the fifth time in six years.

They are back in the finals again after winning a shootout against Calvary Day 49-42, a game that might have just determined who will win the state championship.

But their opponent in the state finals, Savannah Christian, isn’t going to lay down. The Raiders are a battle-tested group that played a quality schedule. Both of their losses came against teams that lost in the semifinals this year (Calvary Day and Marist).

This is going to be a huge challenge for the Raiders if they want to win their first state championship since 2011. The Saints played arguably the toughest schedule in the state this season and despite losing five times, they won the games they needed to to reach the state finals.
