Photos: Meridian keeps upset trend alive, knocks off Madison in Idaho 5A boys basketball state tournament
Meridian will play Owyhee in the 5A semifinals on Friday
NAMPA, Idaho - Meridian kept the upset trend alive on Thursday, knocking off No. 3 Madison 72-67 in the quarterfinals of the Idaho Class 5A boys basketball state tournament.
Meridian, the No. 6 seed, pulled off its upset after No. 8 Centennial and No. 5 Rigby both advanced earlier in the day.
Ethan Pearce had a big game for Meridian with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Austin Ramos scored 17 points and Ladu Kaden added 15.
Logan Crane led Madison with 17 points.
Meridian will play Owyhee in the 5A semifinals on Friday at 7 p.m.
