BOISE - Get ready for a nice extended run by first-year Owyhee High School in Class 5A softball.
With no seniors on the roster, the Storm recovered from an early deficit to knock off Eagle, 7-5, in the 5A District III championship game Friday afternoon at Borah High School.
Sophomore Mantha Hatzenbeller was fantastic, digging out of an early 3-0 hole with a three-run home run - then settling in as the winning pitcher for Owyhee.
Owyee, which finished third in the 5A SIC, broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the fourth inning, capped by Sobella Malliarodakis' two-run single.
