Photos: Thorough domination! Meridian blanks Eagle to capture first 5A SIC crown since 2007

In opening-weekend rematch, Warriors score twice on defense in 35-0 win over the Mustangs

MERIDIAN, Idaho - Zeke Martinez passed for two touchdowns, ran for another and the defense was spectacular in scoring twice as top-ranked Meridian stopped No. 3 Eagle, 35-0, to win the 5A Souther Idaho Conference championship Friday night.

It was the Warriors' first league title since 2007. They also nabbed the No. 1 seed to the state playoffs.

Ryan Corder's 41-yard interception return with 33 seconds remaining in the opening quarter broke a scoreless tie, and got Meridian rolling.
