Here are SBLive's Iowa high school football rankings for the week of Sept. 24: 

1. Southeast Polk (5-0)

Sam Zelenovich caught five passes for 115 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown, in a 48-14 win over Sioux City East.

2. West Des Moines Dowling (5-0)

Sophomore Joel Sankoh returned an interception 25 yards for a score and the Maroons had a running clock the entire second half in a 50-0 win over Des Moines Roosevelt.

3. Ankeny (3-2)

Devon Akers caught eight passes for 159 yards and a touchdown in a 48-21 win over Iowa City West.

4. Ankeny Centennial (3-2)

Jaguars walloped Des Moines East 72-0 to tune up for their showdown with No. 2 Dowling this week.

5. Williamsburg (5-0)

Raiders had six receptions, four for touchdowns, in a 61-6 win over South Tama in which they led 54-0 at the half.

6. Western Dubuque (4-1)

Bobcats have allowed four of their five opponents to score at least 20 points. They beat Waverly-Shell Rock 35-23 last week.

7. Van Meter (5-0)

Bulldogs aren’t expected to be tested in their final three regular-season games. Their best win continues to be a three-point decision over Underwood in their opener.

8. Central Lyon/George-Little Rock (5-0)

Lions rank first in 2A in scoring per game (51.8) and second in points allowed per game (8.6).

9. Creston (5-0)

Brennan Hayes rushed for 92 yards, added 39 receiving yards and a touchdown, and kicked the game-winning 30-yard field goal in a 25-22 win over Harlan Community.

10. North Scott (4-1)

Lancers outgained Burlington 452-118 in a 48-0 victory.

11. Bettendorf (5-0)

One of three remaining unbeatens in 5A, expect the Bulldogs to get a major test this week when they travel to Cedar Rapids Kennedy.

12. Pleasant Valley (4-1)

Quarterback Coy Kipper ran for a touchdown and threw for another in the first half as the Spartans rolled Dubuque Senior 56-19.

13. Bondurant-Farrar (4-1)

Titus Cram ran for 169 yards and four touchdowns and made 8.5 tackles in a 42-21 win over Newton.

14. Lewis Central (3-2)

Brody Patlan carried 31 times for 189 yards and four TDs, and added a fifth score receiving in a 49-21 win over Glenwood.

15. Davenport Assumption (4-1)

Knights tuned up for their big trip to Mount Vernon this week with a 38-7 win over Fort Madison.

16. ADM (4-1)

A quarterback, Aiden Flora, leads 4A in rushing with 1,016 yards (203.2 per game). Only three RBs in any class have more.

17. Cedar Rapids Xavier (3-2)

Saints led 35-0 at half at held Clinton to 40 total yards in a 42-0 win.

18. Harlan Community (3-2)

Cyclones rallied from a 15-point deficit, but a fourth-down conversion try in the final minute fell a yard short in a 25-22 loss to the Panthers.

19. Underwood (4-1)

Both of Mason Boothby’s catches went for touchdowns as the Eagles led Shenandoah 49-0 at the half, and that was the final score.

20. Cedar Rapids Kennedy (3-2)

Trevor Scott carried 26 times for 174 yards and a score, and Jacob Doyle rushed 24 times for 167 and two more TDs in a 61-34 win over Iowa City High.

21. North Polk (4-1)

Eight players had receptions in a 57-0 win over Des Moines North, led by Brock Miller with four catches for 78 yards and a score.

22. Waukee Northwest (3-2)

Wolves held Waterloo West to 74 total yards in an easy 64-0 win.

23. Waukee (4-1)

Grant Gammell carried 20 times for 114 yards and a score in a hard-fought 14-10 win over Johnston.

24. Grundy Center (5-0)

Colin Gordon stripped a ball carrier, recovered the fumble and raced 92 yards for a score in a 21-14 win over upset-minded Waterloo Columbus.

25. Solon (4-1)

Spartans tuned up for this week’s big home game with Benton Community with a 40-7 win over Grinnell.
