Michigan high school softball state tournament: results from the quarterfinals

The Brownstown Woodhaven Warriors defeated the Macomb Dakota Cougars 6-4 in the Division 1 MHSAA Baseball semifinals at McLane Stadium.
Dakota's big inning came in the third.
With one out, the Cougars loaded the bases. Brenden Borowicz grounded out to third base, but he drove in the first run of the game. A Brownstown throwing error allowed Matt Wouters to score. Will DeMasse singled to right field for an RBI and a 3-0 Cougar lead. Braylon Ryan scored an unearned run to finish the inning with a 4-0 lead.
Brownstown's offense exploded in the fourth inning. Tyler Harris doubled to left center to drive in Andrew Phillips and Dawson Terry. Michael Budai followed Harris with a single to right field to drive him in. Two batters later, Jacob Wright hit an RBI single to right field for an RBI to tie the game at four.
Brownstown took the lead with an RBI single from Nick Phillips. The Warriors finished the inning with five runs on five hits and a 5-4 lead.
Their momentum continued in the fifth inning. Budai singled through the right side for an RBI single to give the Warriors a 6-4 lead.
Brownstown Woodhaven’s Evan Lanlois continued to roll after his tough third inning. He closed the game and finished with seven innings pitched, allowing six hits, four runs, one walk and five strikeouts.
Brownstown Woodhaven will play the winner of Novi vs. Mattawan in the MHSAA Division 1 final on Saturday, June 17 at 9 a.m. at McLane Stadium.
