The 2025 Minnesota (MSHSL) high school boys basketball begins with four classification quarterfinals on Tuesday, March 18.

The Class 4A, Class 3A and Class 2A quarterfinals are on day one of the tournament. The game are held at Williams Arena and Target Center.

CLASS 2A

Quarterfinals

FINAL: No. 1 Albany 80, No. 8 Pelican Rapids 57

Sam Hondl led the Huskies with 16 points. Pelican Rapids' Jack Welch scored 29 points.

FINAL: No. 4 Caledonia 72, No. 5 Minnehaha Academy 56

Reid Klug scored 23 points and Garrett Konz scored 21 points for the Warriors. Klug also grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists.

Fitta Jafar led the Redhawks with 21 points.

FINAL: No. 2 Waseca 49, No. 7 Pequot Lakes 45

In a defensive battle, Damarius Russell led the Bluejays with 16 points and eight assists.

FINAL: No. 3 Breck 73, No. 8 Montevideo 49

Waleed Muhammed scored 18 points for Breck while Miles Newton scored 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Brody Dack led Montivideo with 13 points.


CLASS 3A

Quarterfinals - Williams Arena

FINAL: No. 1 Mankato East 76, No. 8 St. Paul Harding 33

The top seed in Class 3A started the tournament with an easy win. Mankato East's Brogan Madson scored 24 points, and Ganden Gosch grabbed 10 rebounds. The Mankato East defense held St. Paul Harding to 13-of-53 shooting from the field.

Tobis Williams led St. Paul Harding with 10 points.

FINAL: No. 4 Orono 87, No. 5 DeLaSalle 71

Orono's Nolan Groves scored 44 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Spartans defeated the Islanders. Orono pulled away to a double-digit lead in the opening five minutes.

Jaeden Udean scored 27 points for DeLaSalle.

FINAL: No. 2 Totino-Grace 88, Duluth Denfeld 72

Duluth Denfeld's MarNaries Ferguson scored 41 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Eagles. Malachi Hill and Chase Watley each scored 23 points as Totino-Grace advanced to another Class 3A semifinal.

FINAL: No. 3 Alexandria 82, No. 6 Byron 70

Alexandria star Chase Thompson sat with foul trouble in the first half, but the Cardinals still pulled away from the Bears. Mason Witt scored 18 points for the Cardinals. Colin Hansen and Will Brian each scored 18 points for Byron.


CLASS 4A

Quarterfinals - Target Center

FINAL: No. 1 Cretin-Derham Hall 69, No. 8 Rochester John Marshall 57

Cretin-Derham Hall's Joe Mitchell and Ty Schlagel led the Raiders in scoring with 16 points each. Raider Tommy Ahneman had 14 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and six blocks.

Rochester John Marshall hung with the top seed for much of the first half, but the Raiders pulled away toward halftime and kept a double-digit lead for much of the second half.

Elijah Ladu had 15 points for the Rockets.

FINAL: No. 4 Maple Grove 74, No. 5 Apple Valley 51

Keegan Harney and Nathan Hrmodka had 24 and 23 points, respectively, for the Crimson. Maple Grove held a 3-point halftime lead, but the Crimson controlled the second half to make the semifinals.

Camare Young led Apple Valley with 12 points.

FINAL: No. 2 Wayzata 61, No. 7 Moorhead 52

Isaac Olmstead scored 18 points for Wayzata, and Reign Battle led Moorhead with 23 points.

Moorhead had a better field goal percentage, 41.5 to 33.8, than Wayzata, but the Trojans grabbed 16 offensive rebounds to Moorhead's four. Christian Wiggins led Wayzata with 11 rebounds.

FINAL: No. 3 Shakopee 85, No. 6 Anoka 52

Shakopee routed Anoka with a strong second half, outscoring the Sabers 46-21 in the second half. Luke Wheatley led Shakopee with 65 points. Trey Borchers led Anoka with 15 points.
