A.J. Maddox commits to Ole Miss after Mississippi-Alabama all-star football game

Maddox decommitted from Texas A&M on Friday

Lane Kiffin just flipped another big-time quarterback.

A.J. Maddox, who led Oak Grove to the Mississippi 7A high school football state championship earlier this month, committed to Ole Miss after the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Classic on Saturday. 

Maddox originally committed to Texas A&M, but decommitted from the Aggies on Friday. Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher was fired in mid-November. Maddox made the Ole Miss announcement on Instagram.

"Seeing the production that Jaxson Dart has put in over 2 years leads me to think I could do even more once I get there," Maddox said on his Instagram post.

Maddox was named second-team all-state by SBLive, behind first-team all-state quarterback Trey Petty of Starkville, his teammate in Saturday's all-star game. Petty and Maddox combined to complete 21 of 34 pass attempts for 220 yards and a touchdown on Saturday, but it wasn't enough in a 26-17 loss to Alabama.
