Gavin Bomstad, De Smet lacrosse

Bomstad, a senior, tallied four goals to help lead De Smet to a 10-5 victory over SLUH last Saturday.

Ashlen Garrett, Skyline girls track and field

Garrett, a freshman, was leaps and bounds ahead of the competition at the Warsaw Invitational, stealing first place in the long jump with a mark of 14 feet, 5 1/2 inches.

Madeleine Shylanski, Fort Zumwalt North girls soccer

The senior had one of few goals during Fort Zumwalt North’s 2-1 win over Fort Zumwalt West last Friday, giving North only its third win over West in the last 16 meetings.

Hobbs Campbell, Joplin boys track and field

Despite a fifth-place finish in the 3,200-meter run, Campbell broke a 20-year-old program record by completing the race in 9 minutes and 19 seconds at the Bill Summa Invitational.

Connor Davenport, Orchard Farm baseball

The senior pitcher was dealing during a 10-0 win against University City, getting the start and going four full innings while striking out eight batters and not allowing a single hit.

Sydney Frelich, Ladue girls soccer

Frelich, a senior, scored the only goal of the game in the Rams’ 1-0 triumph over Pattonville last Friday. It marked Ladue’s first win over Pattonville since 2017.

Carter Cox, Fort Zumwalt South baseball

Cox, a sophomore left-hander, pitched 5 ⅔ innings of scoreless baseball during a 6-0 win over Francis Howell North, serving as his first win of the season.

Nick Phillips, De Smet baseball

Phillips, just a sophomore, used his right arm to dish a one-hit shutout during De Smet’s 3-0 victory against Vianney.

Cooper Slominski, Lawson boys track and field 

The senior captured first in both the 100- and 300-meter hurdles last Friday at the Joe Shy Relays in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Gavin Jansen, Kelly baseball

Jansen stepped up to the plate in the fifth and crushed a home run, eventually leading to a 6-4 victory over Saxony Lutheran. Jansen had two hits with three RBIs.

Kennedy Kurz, Maryville girls soccer

Despite a 4-2 loss to Pleasant Hill last Tuesday, the junior netted two goals to get the Spoofhounds’ first goal of the game and later help them tie it up a 2-2.

Jackson CDeBaca, Bishop LeBlond baseball

CDeBaca, just a freshman, stepped went 4-for-4 to help lead the Eagles to a 13-1 win against Trenton last Saturday.

Caleb Cody-Jackson, Marquette boys track and field

The junior placed first in both the 100- and 400-meter dashes last Saturday at the Northwest Invitational in Cedar Hill, Missouri.

Mya Sackery, Brookfield girls track and field

Sackery, a freshman, finished with a first-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 3 ¾ inches at the Joe Shy Relays on April 8.

Conner Musser, East Buchanan baseball

Musser went the distance during the Bulldogs’ 5-2 win over rival Mid-Buchanan, striking out eight and allowing a meager two hits.

Jennalee Dunn, Joplin girls track and field

Dunn finished the 3,200-meter run with a third-place time of 11 minutes and 21 seconds at the Bill Summa Invitational, breaking a Joplin record that stood since 2002.

Luis Barrett, Gateway Legacy Christian Academy baseball

Barrett, a senior infielder, went 3-for-4 with three RBIs last Tuesday to help lead the Lions to a 15-14 win over Parkway Central.

DeJuan Chambers, Hermitage boys track and field

The freshman showed out at the Warsaw Invitational on April 7, nabbing first place in the 400-meter dash with a run of 54.45 seconds.

Lane Larabee, Nodaway Valley baseball

Larabee, just a freshman, went all five innings during the Thunder’s 12-2, five-inning win over North Nodaway. Larabee allowed a mere one earned run on three hits.

Avery Brown, Lafayette (Wildwood) girls track and field

Brown, a freshman, stole first place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.80 seconds at the Northwest Invitational on April 9.
