BUCKLEY - More than a year removed from throwing the first touchdown pass by a female in school history, Fife senior quarterback Brynna Nixon started the Trojans' season opener on Friday, leading them to a 20-6 victory over White River.
The victory was No. 108 for Fife head coach Kent Nevin, making him the winningest football coach in school history.
The Trojans' defense stole the show in this one, intercepting two passes, forcing a safety and holding White River to single digits. Jay'Vonn Brooks and Lemu Ale came up with the interceptions for Fife.
