Former Little Rock Parkview defensive coordinator Nick Vaughn new coach at Camden Fairview

It was first reported by The Camden News on Thursday evening that Little Rock Parkview defensive coordinator Nick Vaughn has been named the new head coach and assistant athletic director at Camden Fairview. Vaughn will take over for Jake Monden who accepted the same position at Southmoore High School in Moore, Okla.
Vaughn has coached for almost two decades, including assistant tenures at Henderson State, a 12-year span at El Dorado, and the past three seasons at Parkview.
“I cannot express how humbled and honored I am to be named Head Football Coach at Camden Fairview High School,” he told the newspaper. “I would first like to thank Mr. Embry and the rest of the committee for believing in my vision for the future of Cardinal Football. Today is not about me, it’s about this program and our student-athletes. I can’t wait to meet everyone and get started coaching these young men.”
In his three years running Parkview’s defense, Vaughn mentored multiple college prospects, including Jaylon “Trip” White this past season, who signed with Ole Miss in December. Parkview went 10-3 last season, falling in the semifinals to Greenwood, with Vaughn’s defense allowing 19 points per game.
Camden Fairview is coming off its best season since 2012 as winners of the 5A-South conference, winning 10 games before falling to eventual state runner-up White Hall in the second round of the playoffs.
Parkview head coach Brad Bolding expressed his appreciation for Vaughn’s contributions to the Patriots program.
“Coach Vaughn did a great job at Parkview as my defensive coordinator,” Bolding said. “I have no doubt he is ready to be a head coach, and he will do a great job at Camden Fairview.”
