There were many outstanding high school boys and girls basketball performances across the state of Washington last week. Here is a collection of those that stood above the pack in games that occurred between Jan. 31 and Feb. 5. Names are in alphabetical order.

BOYS

Asjon Anderson, Mount Tahoma (3A)

Would it be another week in the season without mention of Anderson, Mount Tahoma’s high-scoring guard? Scored 50 points in a six-point win over Stadium on Wednesday after dropping 46 in a win over Bonney Lake.

John John Barbee, Franklin-Pierce (2A)

His 29 points on Saturday in a loss to No. 7 White River might be a drop in the bucket for the high-volume scorer. It pushed him past a school record for career scoring set in 1979.

Jaedyn Brown, Pullman (2A)

Scored 24 points in a win over Shadle Park and had 19 in a win over Rogers of Spokane as the Greyhounds eye District 8’s one playoff bid. 

Anthony Canales, Lynden (2A)

Scored 21 points in a win over Lakewood and 30 on Saturday in a win at Burlington-Edison. 

Dylan Darling, Central Valley (4A)

Dropped a Greater Spokane League record 58 points in a win over North Central, then had 30 points in a win at Gonzaga Prep to stay in the GSL hunt with a game remaining. 

Rylan Donovan, White River (2A)

Matched a career-high 36 points in a win over Franklin-Pierce to win the 2A South Puget Sound League crown.

Thunderr Doty, Crosspoint (1B)

Hit eight 3s on his way to 42 points in a regular season finale win over Neah Bay and 20 points in a key league win over previously undefeated Northwest Yeshiva.

Jackson Esary, Kalama (2B)

The Central 2B player of the year had 30 points and four steals in a lopsided win over Onalaska, then had 29 points and five steals agist the same team to close out league play.

Carson Frawley, Camas (4A)

First the senior forward had 43 points to tie a school record set in 1964. Then on Saturday, he broke the record with 44 points in a win over Marshfield of Oregon.

Twazae Gladney, Richland (4A)

Led Richland with 20 points en route to handing Kamiakin its first league loss, then scored 18 in a 92-39 win over Hanford the next night.

Jamond Harris, R.A. Long (2A)

Had a near triple-double — 30 points, nine assists and nine steals — in a rout of Fort Vancouver. 

Justice Hart, Yakama Tribal (1B)

Eagles’ standout senior posted 37 points, 10 boards, five assists and five steals in a road upset over Moses Lake Christian Academy and hit his 1000th career point on his first made basket against Touchet in a 70-42 win the next night, finishing with 22 points, four rebounds, 10 assists and four blocks in three quarters.

Brooklyn Hicks, Timberline (3A)

Had 29 points and nine boards in a win over North Thurston, 30 points, eight boards and a pair of steals in a win over Peninsula and 24, six boards and five dimes in a win over Capital.

Amare Jackson, Highline (2A)

Junior guard set a new school record with 51 points in a win over Evergreen of Seattle.

Zaveon Jones, Mountlake Terrace (3A)

Sophomore had 29 points in a four-point win over Archbishop Murphy.

Jonas La Tour, North Kitsap (2A)

Scored 27 points — 25 in the first half — and pulled down 15 points in a home win over Bremerton to close out the regular season.

Gavin Marrs, Ellensburg (2A)

Scored 16 points, pulled down 10 boards and collected five steals in a win over East Valley to help the Bulldogs clinch the CWAC 2-seed.

Aiden Olmstead, North Kitsap (2A)

Finished with 17 points and 11 boards in a lopsided home win over Bremerton to finish the regular season.

Dirk Plakinger, W.F. West (2A) 

Averaged 24 points and seven rebounds per game in four games and capped off a 3-1 week to secure No. 2 in the 2A Evergreen Conference with a 34-point outing and alley-oop dunk on senior night.

Leo Pulalasi, Lakes (3A)

He’s not only a terror for defenses on the football field. The 6-foot-1 junior had a game-high 23 points in a win over Stadium to close out the season. 

Maverick Sanders, Mt. Spokane (3A)

Had 24 points in a comfortable win over Ridgeline and 23 in a win over University Friday that helped the Wildcats secure the top 3A GSL seed for districts. 

Tre’ Seydel, Raymond (2B)

Scored 26 points in a comfortable win over South Bend, pushing the multi-year standout to No. 1 Raymond’s all-time boys basketball scoring list, surpassing a record set by Ken Hoffer that stood for 55 years.

Trevontay Smith, Yelm (3A)

Junior point guard scored 27 points in a win over North Thurston. 

Jaden Turner, Ilwaco (2B)

Big time players show up in key moments. For Turner, it was his 19-point team-high scoring night in a key Pacific 2B win over Chief Leschi. 

Isaiah Vargas, Mountain View (3A)

The junior guard finished with 19 points, 11 boards and nine assists in a win over Heritage to finish second in the 3A Greater St. Helens League.

Taylor Wells, Freeman (1A)

Scored a season-high 23 points in a win over Medical Lake Friday night.

Will Woodward, Eastlake (4A)

Washington baseball commit continues to post impressive numbers. Had 31 points and 13 boards in a win over Bothell, scored 15 in a win over Redmond and was named league MVP.

GIRLS

Lola Baerlocher, Colton (1B)

The guard contributed 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the team’s win over Oakesdale, reports the Lewiston Tribune.

Teagan Colvin, Liberty of Spangle (2B)

The sophomore exploded for a game-high 33 points on 13-of-17 shooting with 10 rebounds and 10 steals — a triple double — in a win over Davenport.

Alyson Deaver, Sumner (4A)

The reigning 4A SPSL MVP went to work against Emerald Ridge in the league title game with a game-high 28 points in the Spartans’ victory.

Chloe Deharo, West Valley (2A)

The Eagles’ point guard had 22 points in a 2A GSL win over Clarkston, reports the Spokesman Review.

Natalie Fraley, Kelso (3A)

The Utah State signee went off for a school-record 41 points in the Hilanders’ victory over Evergreen of Vancouver. She also had 15 steals and 11 rebounds for the triple double, reports the Longview Daily News.

Kyra Gardner, Raymond (2B)

The WSU signee had a pair of 30-point showings in 2B action - 36 points against South Bend (also 11 rebounds and eight steals), and 30 points against Toutle Lake, both victories.

Miranda Lomax, R.A. Long (2A)

The point guard was untouchable with a game-high 30 points, and the Lumberjills upended Hockinson in 2A GSHL action, reports the Vancouver Columbian.

Taleya Maiden, Pasco (3A)

With her other standout teammates in foul trouble, the senior tallied 27 points in leading the No. 2 Bulldogs to a season sweep or city rival Chiawana.

Kenzi Pedersen, Garfield-Palouse (1B)

For the No. 1 team of 1B’s senior night, the preseason all-state forward scored a game-high 23 points in a win over St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse, reports the Lewiston Tribune.

Malia Ruud, Chiawana (4A)

Another week, another string of double-double performances for the ninth grade post player. She had 27 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Hermiston, and 22 points and 12 rebounds in a loss against Pasco.

Veronica Sheffey, Woodinville (4A)

The San Diego signee led the No. 1. Falcons with a game-high 29 points, six assists and five rebounds in a win over No. & Eastlake in the 4A KingCo championship game.

Ava Schmidt, Eastlake (4A)

The junior posted tallied 15 of her team-high 20 points in the second half for the N0. 7 Wolves in a loss to Woodinville in the 4A KingCo title game.

Gabby Stuart, Seattle Prep (3A)

On senior night, the talented guard erupted for a game-high 29 points (18 in the first half) in the Panthers win over Chief Sealth. She had 21 earlier in the week in a loss to Eastside Catholic.

Kendall Wallace, Clarkston (2A)

The Bantams’ point guard drilled seven 3-pointers en route to a game-high 26 points in a loss to West Valley of Spokane, reports the Spokesman-Review.
