Here are all the other athletes that were nominated for Oct. 10-16:

Jayden Davis, Providence Day, Football

A quarterback who has 26 scholarship offers, Davis was 28 of 40 for 423 yards and 4 touchdowns with an interception in a 38-37 loss to Charlotte Christian. Clearly, he can go anywhere he wants when it comes to college.

Cristian Ortiz, Asheboro, Soccer

Scoring a hat trick in consecutive games is impressive. Ortiz got his first one of the week in an 8-1 win over Montgomery Central. Then he scored all three goals in a 3-0 win over Oak Grove.

Ortiz, a senior striker, leads the Blue Comets with 27 goals.

Keyshawn Breedlove, Central Davidson, Football

A senior tailback, Breedlove ran for 241 yards and 4 touchdowns on just carries as the Spartans romped past Montgomery Central 42-14. Breedlove has 1,724 yards and 26 touchdowns. He is averaging 16.3 yards a carry. Breedlove is a threat to score any time he touches the ball.

Jaylen Alexander-Raynor, East Forsyth, Football

The senior quarterback routinely turns in great performances for the undefeated Eagles. He was 9 of 12 for 201 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 51-0 rout of R.J. Reynolds.

Alina Ryan, Cardinal Gibbons, Volleyball

A 5-foot-10 sophomore, Ryan had 12 kills and 6 digs in a 3-0 win over Sanderson. She had 3 kills and 4 digs in a 3-0 win over Enloe.

Hunter Stalcup, Murphy, Football

This is some serious running. Stalcup, a junior tailback carried 22 times for 281 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Bulldogs trounced Robbinsville 48-16.

Tripp Woody, Charlotte Christian, Football

It doesn't get more clutch than kicking a 47-yard field goal to win a game. That's what Woody did against Providence Day. He was also perfect on extra points.

Zach Hazelwood, Wheatmore, Cross Country

Hazelwood won a conference meet in a time of 18:59, easily outdistancing the competition. That’s what the junior runner usually does when he races.

JyMikaah Wells, Salisbury, Football

This long since become a routine game for Wells. The record-setting senior tailback was at it again, running for 157 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 48-6 win over Lexington. Wells has 22 touchdowns for the season and is Salisbury’s career leader with 71 TDs.
