Here are the candidates for SBLive’s North Carolina High School Athlete of the Week for Feb. 20-25 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Sunday at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced Monday, March 6. Dino Loyd, Living Water Christian, Boys Basketball

The 6-foot-2 sophomore scored 25 points and had 10 rebounds as Living Water beat

Tabernacle Christian 83-77 to win the North Carolina Christian School Association 2-A state championship.

Aubrie Snyder, Draughn, Girls Basketball

Snyder, a 6-foot senior, turned in a dominant performance with 27 points and 11 rebounds as the Wildcats upset North Rowan 52-45 in the third round of the 1-A state playoffs.

Patrick Tivnan, Charlotte Catholic, Boys Basketball

Tivnan scored the game-winning basket with 11.7 seconds remaining in the Cougars’ 44-43 win over Grimsley in the third round of the 4-A state playoffs. The 6-foot-8 senior led Charlotte Catholic with 18 points. Tivnan is averaging 16.3 points and 8.5 rebounds.

Emanuel Richards, Christ School, Boys Basketball

The 6-foot-4 senior led his team with 18 points as the Greenies outlasted Carmel Christian 53-48 to win the NCISAA 4-A state championship. Richards averaged 11.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He has offers from North Carolina A&T, Presbyterian, South Carolina Upstate and Western Carolina.

Tate Chappell, Bishop McGuinness, Girls Basketball

Chappell reached 1,000 career points in the Villains’ 62-55 third-round state playoff win over Bessemer City. The 5-foot-10 senior also scored 21 points in a second-round win over North Stokes.

Jaydon Young, Greensboro Day, Boys Basketball

The 6-foot-4 Virginia Tech recruit scored 23 points as the Bengals held off Concord Academy 58-56 to win the NCISAA 3-A state championship. Young tallied 18 of his points in the second half.

Braelyn Stillwell, East Burke, Girls Basketball

Stilwell scored 21 points to help lead East Burke past Newton-Conover 54-37 in the third round of the state playoffs. The 5-foot-5 sophomore averages 16.8 points, 7.7 assists and 6.8 steals.

Ronald Bridges, Jr., Jordan, Boys Basketball

The 6-foot-3 senior led the way with 33 points as the Falcons beat Millbrook 85-80 in overtime to reach the program’s first regional semifinal since 2005. Bridges is averaging 18.2 points and 7.0 rebounds.

Zeus Batts, New Hanover, Boys Basketball

Batts scored 27 points, leading the Wildcats to a 52-48 win over Broughton in the third round of the 4-A state playoffs. The 6-foot sophomore made four 3-pointers. Batts took advantage of extra defensive pressure on one of his teammates to score well above his season average of 10.2 points.

Jayda Angel, Cape Fear, Girls Basketball

The 5-foot-7 junior had a spectacular game, scoring 37 points in the Colts’ 59-46 third-round win over Western Alamance. Angel is averaging 29.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 6.7 steals.
