T.C. Roberson's Micah Simpson wins final North Carolina Athlete of the Week of the Year

Baseball star received more than 27,000 votes

In the final SBLive North Carolina Athlete of the Year award, T.C. Roberson baseball player Micah Simpson won the fan voting for the week of May 22-27.

Simpson earned the honor after the sophomore hit a walk-off home run to lift the Rams to a 3-2 win over Northwest Guilford in Game 1 of the 4A Western 
Regional Championship Series. He followed that up with a go-ahead home run in Roberson's series clinching win over Northwest Guilford.

Simpson received 27,694 votes, which was 65.05% of the total vote. Congratulations Micah.
