Jalen Hood-Schifino is heading to Hollywood as one of the newest members of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Hood-Schifino was the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NBA Draft Thursday.

Hood-Schifino played his first few seasons of high school basketball in North Carolina, first at Northside Christian in Charlotte and then later at Combine Academy in Lincolnton. He finished his prep career at Montverde Academy in Florida.

Hood-Schifino was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year at Indiana during the 2022-23 season after averaging 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game for the Hoosiers.
