Here are the candidates for SBLive’s North Carolina High School Athlete of the Week for Dec. 25-Dec. 30 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Sunday, January 7th at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Here’s the nominations: 

Carson Wallace, Boys Basketball, Erwin: No player went off the way the junior point guard did last week. Wallace scored 47 points on 19-of-30 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 88-69 win. 

Jacob McGraw, Boys Basketball, T.C. Roberson: The senior forward was nearly perfect in the Rams’ 62-33 victory over Hibriten last week. McGraw scored 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting and grabbed three rebounds. 

Zion Thomas, Boys Basketball, West Caldwell: Another perimeter player that was nearly perfect from the field was Thomas. The junior point guard scored 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting, eight assists and four rebounds in a 84-59 win over Hickory Christian Academy. 

Samuel Avent, Boys Basketball, Greene Central: The sophomore wing had a big night in the Rams’ 71-65 win over Martin County, scoring 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting. 

Kambo Ikwefu, Boys Basketball, American Hebrew Academy: The 6-foot-7 forward led the way in ACA’s 114-62 victory over Stone-Eden Christian. Ikwefu scored a game-high 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists. 

Dominic Robinson, Boys Basketball, Bandys: The junior wing had himself a strong outing in the Trojans’ 75-49 win over Stuart W. Cramer. Robinson led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds. 

Aris Joyner, Boys Basketball, Asheville: The senior wing was highly efficient when Asheville rolled to a 78-55 win over Dawson-Bryant. Joyner connected on 5-of-8 shooting and scored 20 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals. 

Tyler Sandaire, Boys Basketball, Corinth Holders: Sandaire was a big reason why the Pirates were able to notch win No. 1 on the season, 83-82, over Carrboro. The senior wing scored 25 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals. 

Ma’Kyi Butler, Boys Basketball, Grace Christian: The senior guard did a little bit of everything in the Crusaders’ 101-71 victory over Living Water Christian. Butler scored a team-high 26 points, eight rebounds and six assists. 

Kendre Harrison, Boys Basketball, Reidsville: The 6-foot-6 sophomore center has been impressive throughout the season and continued his year. Harrison scored 21 points and collected 12 rebounds in a 76-66 win over Farmville Central, handing them their first loss of the season. 

Tralyn Phillips, Girls Basketball, Forestview: The freshman guard has come onto the scene as one of the Tar Heel State’s top players on the hardwood. Phillips scored a game-high 31 points, six assists and six steals in a 76-52 win over Lincolnton. 

Korbyn Lydia, Girls Basketball, Gaffney: Lydia is another underclassman that’s played really well so far this season. Lydia led the way in a 79-40 win over West Henderson, scoring a game-high 23 points. 

Michaela Fairwell, Girls Basketball, Dutch Fork: The junior wing continued her torrid play this season for the Silver Foxes. Fairwell in a 62-37 win over South Point scored 24 points and gathered 10 steals.
