Centerville point guard Gabe Cupps named Ohio Mr. Basketball

Gabe Cupps is Ohio Mr. Basketball after a statewide media panel on Wednesday selected the junior Centerville point guard as the state's player of the year.
Centerville won the Division I state championship in 2021 and finished as runner-up to Pickerington Central two weeks ago.
Cupps averaged 14.3 points per game, 6.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds and two steals this season.
St. Vincent-St. Mary senior Sincere Harris finished as runner-up in a field that included Sean Jones (Gahanna Lincoln), Elmore James IV (Brush), T.C. Molk (Dover) and Sean Craig (Sylvania Northview).
The Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association also chose Cupps as its Ohio Mr. Basketball earlier this month.
