PHOTOS: GlenOak creates logjam at top of Federal League with 70-62 OT win against Jackson
MASSILLON, Ohio - In a battle at the top of the Federal League boys basketball standings Tuesday night, GlenOak prevailed in overtime, 70-62, over Jackson.
Ja'Corey Lipkins was the scoring leader in the extra period, as he scored eight of his team-high 19 points for GlenOak in overtime.
Jackson was led by Owen Woolbert with 20 points and Kyle Monterrubio with 19.
GlenOak took a 33-24 lead into the half, but Jackson kept chipping away in the second half and got the deficit to three after three quarters and outscored GlenOak 12-9 in the fourth to force overtime.
In the final 30 seconds of the fourth quarter, GlenOak's Jaylen McElroy got a steal and a layup to give the Eagles a 56-54 lead but Anthony Fuline answered with a jumper for the Polar Bears to tie the game. Lipkins had a look from about four feet behind the 3-point-line at the buzzer but missed just short.
The result puts GlenOak, Jackson and Green in a three-way tie for the Federal League title as each team is 7-3 in conference play.
