The OSAA 6A boys basketball state tournament begins Wednesday at Chiles Center in Portland. Here's a look at some of the top players to watch at the event.

W Dezman Baker, sr., Mountainside

Baker is a rangy 6-foot-4 wing who helped lead Mountainside to its first state tournament appearance. The senior netted 14 points in the Mavericks’ state round-of-16 win over Central Catholic. He was voted first-team all-Metro League.

G Brayden Boe, fr., Mountainside

Boe, a second-team all-Metro League pick, is averaging 15.5 points in the postseason. The 6-foot-3 freshman is a skilled guard with immense upside.

G Dimitri Cohen, sr., Mountainside

Mountainside’s leading scorer, Cohen is averaging 13.7 points per game as a senior. The 5-foot-11 guard was a first-team all-Metro League selection.

F Jackson Cooper, jr., Cleveland

At 12.4 points per game, Cooper is the leading scorer for the balanced Warriors. The 6-foot-5 junior is also putting up 7.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, one steal and one block. 

G Carson Cox, sr., Summit

Cox is a key role player for the undefeated Storm. The 5-foot-11 senior is averaging nine points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. 

G Max Elmgren, so., Beaverton

Only a sophomore, Elmgren received first-team all-Metro League honors following his strong regular season. The 6-foot guard is averaging 11 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game. 

W Christian Green, jr., Cleveland

Green is a high-flying junior wing who has thrown down several highlight dunks this season. The 6-foot-5 Green is filling up the stat sheet with 12.3 points, six rebounds and one steal per game. 

G Tre Hamilton, sr., Beaverton

The Metro League player of the year, Hamilton is a steady two-way guard who is averaging eight points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. The 6-foot-2 senior is a defensive terror who also gets 2.4 steals and 2.8 deflections per contest. 

P Mark Hamper, jr., West Linn

The 6-foot-3 Hamper is averaging 8.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game for the Lions. He was voted second-team all-Three Rivers League. 

W Caden Harris, sr., Summit

One of the state’s best pure scorers, the 6-foot-6 Harris is putting up 16.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game as a senior. He has signed to play for Chico State. 

G Terrence Hill, so., Roosevelt

Hill poured in a team-high 17 points — nine in the fourth quarter — as Roosevelt took down North Medford in the round-of-16. The 6-foot-3 guard is a dangerous offensive threat. 

G Boden Howell, fr., South Medford

A freshman sensation for the Panthers, Howell is averaging 14.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-3 guard has been South Medford’s leading scorer in multiple games this season. 

G Josiah Lake, jr., Tualatin

Lake, a versatile 6-foot-1 junior, received second-team all-Three Rivers League recognition this season. He plays a supporting role next to stars Noah Ogoli and Malik Ross. 

F Devon Malcolm, sr., South Medford

South Medford’s dunking specialist, Malcom holds season averages of 15.8 points and 10.3 rebounds. The 6-foot-4 forward is one of the state’s best athletes.

G Julian Mora, sr., Summit

The 6-foot Mora has provided plenty of scoring next to Caden Harris this season. Mora, a senior, is averaging 16.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. 

G Noah Ogoli, sr., Tualatin 

Ogoli is a strong all-around guard who uses his lightning quickness on both ends of the court. The 6-foot-1 senior was voted first-team all-Three Rivers League.

G Brady Rice, jr., Beaverton

The 6-foot-1 Rice is Beaverton’s leading scorer at 13.6 points per game. Rice, who received second-team all-Metro League recognition, also averages 3.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and one steal. 

G Malik Ross, sr., Tualatin

Ross sank the winning free throws in Tualatin’s come-from-behind playoff victory over Lake Oswego. The 6-foot senior was voted Three Rivers League defensive player of the year. 

F Raysean Seamster, sr., Roosevelt

Seamster missed the first two months of the season because of injury but returned to help lead Roosevelt to the state tournament. The 6-foot-7 big man had eight points, seven rebounds and three blocks in the round-of-16. 

G Jackson Shelstad, jr., West Linn

Shelstad, an Oregon commit, is averaging 29.6 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals per game. The 6-foot guard is the nation’s No. 62 junior prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings. 

G Junior Sleezer, sr., South Medford

The 6-foot-3 senior was voted Southwest Conference player of the year. Sleezer, a four-year varsity player, is averaging 13.4 points, 4.1 assists and four rebounds per game. 

W Jaden Steppe, so., Tualatin

Steppe has become a key piece of Tualatin’s rotation as a sophomore. The 6-foot-7 wing was voted second-team all-Three Rivers League.

W Donatello Tupper, sr., Roosevelt

The 6-foot-5 Tupper knows how to use his athleticism on both ends of the court. He is a senior leader who scored 10 points in the round-of-16. 

G Lawson Vella, sr., Cleveland

A senior leader, the 6-foot-1 Vella is one of Cleveland’s best shooters and passers. He is averaging 11.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, three assists and two steals per game. 

G Zeke Viuhkola, sr., West Linn

Viuhkola is a feared outside shooter who joined teammate Jackson Shelstad on the all-Three Rivers first team. The 6-foot-2 senior is putting up 15.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.9 blocks per game.
