Congratulations to Cottage Grove’s Mariah Bailey for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Oregon Girls Basketball Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 4-10. 

Bailey, a sophomore guard on the Cottage Grove team, scored 23 points, making five 3-pointers in the process, while also having five steals, three rebounds and two assists for the Lions in a 58-38 win over Gladstone. For the week, which also included a win over Newport and a loss to Henley, she had 48 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists and 10 steals.

Bailey received 56.57% of the vote, beating out Keely Hall, a senior on the Klamath Union team, who finished second with 29.55%. Sadie Snyder, a senior on the Oakridge team, was third with 9.00% and Izzie Harms, a junior on the Willamette team, was fourth with 1.77%. There were nearly 6,000 votes tallied this week.
