Braden Brazenski, DuBois Central Catholic baseball

In a game against Rochester in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs, Brazenski had two doubles and drove in three runs. He also scored twice in the 15-5 win.

Luke Deschenes, Emmaus baseball

In what turned out to be his last high school start on the mound, the Seton Hall commit didn’t disappoint in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs. He shut out Owen J. Roberts on seven hits and struck out nine in a 1-0 win on Monday.

Addy Frye, Neshannock softball 

In the first round of the Class 1A playoffs, the freshman tossed a four-hitter and struck out 10 against Sacred Heart in a 6-0 win.

Kaya Hannon, Tunkhannock softball

In the first round of the Class 4A playoffs, she tossed a one-hitter against Shamokin Area in a 2-1 win. She gave up an unearned run and struck out seven.

Emma Hipps, Clearfield softball

The senior threw a one-hitter in the Class 4A quarterfinals against Hamburg. In the 4-0 win, Hipps struck out 15 and didn’t walk a single batter. At the plate, she hit a homer and drove in a pair of runs.

Luke Guth, Franklin baseball

In the first round of the Class 3A tournament on Monday, the Vanderbilt University commit threw a complete game shutout against South Park. In the game, he struck out 16 hitters and allowed just two hits and two walks. At the plate, he also picked up a double and scored a run in the 3-0 victory.

Bryson Huwar, Clarion-Limestone baseball

In the first round of the Class 1A playoffs, Huwar had three hits and drove in a pair of runs in the eighth inning as the Lions defeated Union 8-5 in eight innings. He also pitched five innings and struck out 10 before an injury forced him off the mound.

Paxton Kling, Central baseball

In the first round of the Class 3A playoffs, Kling had a double, a homer and three RBI in a 13-3 win over Mohawk Area.

Jonas McGrath, Tri-Valley baseball

In a 12-0 win over Bishop McCort in the Class 1A quarterfinals, McGrath drove in three runs as he had three hits, including a double and a homer. The senior scored three times in the victory.

Judah Miller, Halifax baseball

In a 3-1 win over MMI Prep on Thursday in the Class 1A quarterfinals, the junior had a double and a homer and drove in two of Halifax’s three runs. On the mound, he went six innings for the win and allowed one run on four hits while striking out 13.

Mikaila Obenrader, Saegertown softball

In the Class 1A quarterfinals, Obenrader threw an eight-inning no-hitter in a 1-0 win over Union. She struck out 12 in the game.

Faith Persing, Montgomery softball

In the quarterfinals of the Class 1A playoffs, Persing struck out 17 hitters in a six-inning complete game. She allowed just two hits against Faith Christian in the 13-1 win and only one of her outs came on something other than a strikeout.

Ryan Reich, Selinsgrove baseball

In the opening round of the Class 5A playoffs on Monday, Reich went the distance in a 1-0 win over Susquehannock. In his seven innings of work, the senior allowed just two hits and walked two while striking out nine.

Julia Shearer, North Penn softball

Take your pick of performances for the University of Maryland commit. In a 5-0 first round win over Whitehall, she went the distance and allowed just two hits while striking out 13. Then in the quarterfinals, she had 11 strikeouts and allowed just one hit in six innings of a 10-0 win over Williamsport. In that game, she was also big on offense, hitting a double and a homer and driving in three runs.

Trayton Younker, Southern Fulton baseball

The junior hit a double and a home run and drove in four runs in a Class 1A quarterfinal win over Clarion-Limestone. He also scored twice in the 8-5 victory.
