Two sites viewed Penn State wide receiver Jahan Dotson as a bluechip prospect, while one had him as a three-star prospect.

The 5-foot-11, 165-pound pass-catcher, coming out of Nazareth High School (Pennsylvania), outperformed even his most lofty rankings.

Dotson was selected No. 16 overall by the Washington Commanders.

Here's how he was rated as a high school prospect in the class of 2018:

247Sports

Ranking: 3-star prospect; No. 76 wide receiver

Notable: 247Sports was low on Dotson.

While he averaged four-star status, the site listed him as a three-star prospect

Rivals

Ranking: 4-star prospect; Nation's No. 164 overall prospect, No. 29 wide receiver

Notable: Dotson climbed as highly as the nation's No. 77 overall prospect early in his junior season, but fell some at the end of the process.

ESPN

Ranking: 4-star prospect; Nation's No. 139 overall prospect, No. 19 wide receiver

Notable: ESPN was highest - and most accurate - on Dotson.
