Dante Dowdell, Mississippi 4-star running back, commits to Oregon Ducks over Ole Miss, Tennessee, others

Picayune Memorial High School running Dante Dowdell was an absolutely dominant force in the state of Mississippi as a junior.
As a junior, the 6-foot-1, 207-pound ball-carrier led his team to a state championship while rushing for 2,555 yards and 28 touchdowns.
Having set a commitment date for Friday, Dowdell was down to a list of finalists that included Arkansas, Ole Miss, Oregon and Tennessee.
In the end, he chose the Ducks.

Dowdell is rated the nation's No. 13 running back, according to ESPN, and is considered a 247Sports composite four-star prospect.
He is the fourth class of 2023 commitment for the Ducks, joining Basha four-star cornerback (Arizona) Cole Martin, Valley Christian (California) four-star wide receiver Jurrion Dickey and Layton Christian Academy (Utah) three-star defensive lineman Tevita Pome'e.
