Terrell Kim, North Medford 3-star offensive lineman, posts inspiring weight-lifting milestone: Video

North Medford's Terrell Kim is rated the nation's No. 24 interior offensive lineman

North Medford High School (Oregon) three-star offensive lineman Terrell Kim has had the goal of squatting 495 pounds for several months. 

Throughout the spring he has posted updates of his gains on social media - 455 (February 15), 475 (March 17). 

But five plates eluded him.

Until Tuesday.

That's when the 6-foot-4, 328-pound lineman - with the "hype man" (and, in this case, unnecessary spotter) support of class of 2024 four-star tight end and teammate A.J. Pugliano - achieved his goal.

"Always been chasing for five plates," he wrote. Finally got it. Grind don’t stop, but it’s nice to celebrate the small victories. Let’s keep it going."

The ultimate goal? Kim wants to best the top high school mark of his uncle Johnny Vaigafa, who is the North Medford offensive line coach.

Too often we focus on the on-field successes only - without thinking of the "hard work victories" that happen every offseason.
