It's still early in the recruitment of class of 2025 Alpharetta (Georgia) four-star tight end Ethan Barbour, but college football programs across the country have already taken notice.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound jumbo pass-catcher is rated the nation's No. 69 overall prospect, No. 3 tight end and has already accumulated more than 20 scholarship offers.

Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others have already come calling.

Over the weekend, Barbour hopes to get to know one of his options better as he'll take an unofficial visit to check out the LSU Tigers, his first to the campus:

"I’m really looking forward to continuing to build a great relationship with coach (Mike) Denbrock and all the coaches and taking a look at their facilities while I am down there," Barbour said.

Two boxes he knows LSU will check in his recruitment are development of the tight end position and passion within the fanbase.

"The thing I like most about LSU is that coach (Brian) Kelly has a great history of using tight ends in the past, and based on what I saw last year, I am sure that will continue," he said. "And their fanbase is incredible," he said.

LSU fans, or fans of any other program, shouldn't expect a quick commitment from Barbour this spring.

He's still feeling out his options for a long recruitment ahead.

"It is still early in the process and i’m really trying to find out where the best fit is going to be for me long term," Barbour said. "Since it is such a big decision, I am in no rush and want to take my time."

LSU will be the first of many spring visits for the dynamic playmaker, but the solidified schedule remains a work-in-progress.

Expect Barbour to rack up the air miles in the coming months.
