6-3, 230-pound linebacker stars for the nation's No. 1 high school team

St. John Bosco (California) four-star linebacker Jordan Lockhart committed to Texas A&M, he announced Thursday evening.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder also reportedly considered Michigan, Oklahoma and USC, but took his lone official visit to College Station. He's ranked in the top 175 nationally according to Rivals.

He was set to visit USC this weekend, but moved his decision up eight days ahead of the visit.

He's the the ninth prospect to commit to head coach Jimbo Fischer and the Aggies in the class of 2024 and the second linebacker, joining Tupelo (Mississippi) three-star Tristan Jernigan.

St. John Bosco went 13-1 in 2022-23, won the CIF Open Division state title to finish the season No. 1 in the nation and SBLive's high school national champion.

SBLive Director of Recruiting Andrew Nemec predicted Lockhart to Texas A&M on Wednesday.
