The writing was on the wall.
But now it's official.
On Monday evening, Buford (Georgia) four-star linebacker Mantrez Walker announced his decommitment from the Michigan Wolverines.

"I felt it was best for me to explore my options and my heart was not in it anymore," he said. "Michigan told me lots of things that weren’t true and I felt they didn’t value me as a commit even though I’m one of the top (linebackers) in the country. They won’t be considered (going forward)."
The news comes following Walker's weekend visit to Tennessee.
"(The) Tennessee visit was nice - real and genuine people filled the area," he said. "The gameday atmosphere was crazy and I loved what I saw."
He will visit Colorado next on September 30 for the game against USC.
In truth, Walker said it's the trip he's most looking forward to taking.
"I’m most excited for that visit," he said. "I’m ready to see what Prime is all about and get up there. They are making me a priority."
Walker is rated the nation's No. 234 overall prospect and No. 12 linebacker in the class of 2025.
