Elysa Martinez scores game-high 22 points to lead Mustangs to 1A title
SAN ANTONIO - Elysa Martinez scored a game-high 22 points and had 10 steals to lead Sands over Robert Lee 60-33 on Saturday morning in the UIL Class 1A championship at the Alamodome.
It marked the first Texas girls basketball title for the Mustangs (37-3).
Landry Morrow contributed 20 points for Sands and teammate Bianca Plata added 10.
Braylee Hood led Robert Lee (34-3) with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
