Burks dropped 44 points in a big win and ran away with the readers' vote

Rice (McKinney, Texas) standout Saniya Burks was voted SBLive's National Girls Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 13-19, as decided by fans and readers. 

Burks received 58.4 percent of the vote after going for 38 points against West on Feb. 13 and following it up with 43 against Teague — both wins. Rice lost to Fairfield in the UIL 3A regional finals on Saturday.

The junior point guard was one of the nation's best scorers this season and put together a strong state player of the year candidate, averaging 33 points per game. 

She edged out Paige Girardi of Warwick (New York), who drove in 31.9 percent of the more than 31,000 votes cast.

National high school top stars, best girls basketball performances

De’Mya Adams, Hawthorne (Florida)

Adams netted a career-best 41 points in an 80-55 victory over Newberry.

Riley Black, Chestatee (Georgia)

Black recorded a double-double with 32 points and 14 rebounds as Chestatee defeated East Forsyth, 58-54, for the Region 8-AAAA Championship.

Chloe Briggs, Ontario Christian (California)

Briggs became the all-time scoring leader in California Southern Section girls basketball history with a 42-point performance against Bishop Montgomery. Briggs, a Washington-bound senior with 3,458 career points, passed Cheryl Miller's old record of 3,446.

Zoe Brooks, St. John Vianney (New Jersey)

Dealing with an ankle injury, Brooks still finished with 26 points, three assists and five steals in an 83-40 romp of St. Rose. The NC State signee is averaging 23 points per game as a senior.

Kyleigh Brown, Silverton (Oregon)

Brown had 22 first-half points and finished with 32 in a 61-29 rout of Corvallis.

Gretchen Dolan, Williamsville South (New York)

Dolan had another big performance in an 85-46 win over Williamsville North, finishing with 45 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and three blocks. The Illinois signee is averaging 39.4 points per game this season.

Kensley Feltner, Lawrence County (Kentucky)

Feltner scored 33 points and found Sophi Adkins for a buzzer-beating 3-pointer that lifted Lawrence County to a 61-58 victory over Greenup County. In the win, the Belmont signee surpassed the 4,000 career points mark.

Paige Girardi, Warwick (New York)

Girardi secured her 1,000th career point on a 3-pointer and finished with 27 points in a 54-37 win over Kingston.

Bailee Goodlett, North Rowan (North Carolina)

Goodlett had 30 points and eight steals in a runaway 71-30 victory against Thomasville.

Maddyn Greenway, Providence Academy (Minnesota)

Greenway became the fastest player in Minnesota girls basketball history to reach 2,000 career points in a 126-94 win over Minnehaha Academy. Greenway, a freshman who made her varsity debut as a seventh-grader, scored a career-high 60 points in the victory. She is averaging 31.4 points per game.

Keeley Parks, Norman (Oklahoma)

Parks, a five-star recruit for the class of 2025, scored a career-best 33 points in a 75-62 victory over Edmond Memorial. She also had 11 steals in the win.

Autumn Rivera, Summit (Colorado)

Rivera netted a career-high 31 points in a 62-24 rout of Vail Christian. The senior also surpassed the 1,000 career points mark in the win.

Brooke Stenklyft, Cambridge (Wisconsin)

Stenklyft scored 27 points as Cambridge rolled to a 70-38 win over Wisconsin Heights.

Brooke Walker, Andover (Kansas)

Walker shined with 26 points as Andover took down Andover Central, 59-45, in a crosstown rivalry game featuring two of the top Class 5A teams.

Juju Watkins, Sierra Canyon (California)

Watkins filled up the stat sheet with 29 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, five blocks and four steals in an 89-45 victory over Sage Hill. Sierra Canyon improved to 29-0 overall for the second consecutive season.

Josie Williams, Conway Christian (Arkansas)

Williams netted 32 points in a 67-33 win over Conway St. Joseph.
