Texas high school football: North Shore routs King in undefeated Houston showdown

Nationally-ranked North Shore left no doubt on Friday night.

The Mustangs rolled to a 42-6 victory over district foe C.E. King in a matchup of undefeated Houston-area teams on Friday night.

North Shore (5-0, 2-0) jumped out to a three-touchdown lead early and led 28-6. Standout junior quarterback Kaleb Bailey found Chris Barnes for a 58-yard deep ball for the first touchdown in the game's opening minutes.

With the win, the Mustangs stay on top of the District 21-6A standings.

North Shore, ranked No. 10 in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25, has won 38 district games in a row and its last 22 games in the regular season. King drops to 4-1 on the season. 

The Mustangs lost to national No. 6 Duncanville in the UIL Class 6A, Division I state title in 2022.
