South Oak Cliff defeated Port Neches Groves in last year's state finals, but the two teams will have a chance to run it back when they meet on Saturday in a Texas UIL Class 5A D2 state championship rematch.

South Oak Cliff has a chance to become just the second 5A-D2 program ever to win three straight titles, while Port Neches Groves is on the doorstep of winning their first state title in nearly 50 years.

What: South Oak Cliff and Port Neches Groves meet once again in a rematch of the Texas UIL 5A Division 2 state finals

When: 11:00 a.m. Central Time on Saturday, December 16

South Oak Cliff (13-2)

The only two teams that have been able to stop the Bears this year are both in the top 10 of the national high school football rankings (No. 6 DeSoto and No. 10 Duncanville). 

They have won every other game this season and have an average margin of victory of more than 32 points. 

Port Neches Groves (14-1)

The Indians lost their first game of the season but responded by winning 14 straight games to once again earn a spot in this year's state title matchup.

If they can maintain their winning ways and upset South Oak Cliff, they will clinch their first state championship since 1975.
