WATCH: 'Hoop the Puyallup' high school basketball tips off at the Washington State Fairgrounds
The first of potentially 400-plus high school basketball games in Pierce County debuted Wednesday.

PUYALLUP - High school basketball in Pierce County could not take place indoors this spring in Phase 2 of the state's COVID-19 reopening program.
So, it went outside Wednesday - at the Washington State Fair Events Center.
The debut featured 4A SPSL doubleheader action - with Rogers of Puyallup playing Emerald Ridge, and Bellarmine Prep meeting Sumner at "The Arena" on site of the fairgrounds.
The 3A PCL will take the court for the first time Thursday.
