The Associated Press named Gonzaga Prep senior Anton Watson and Kamiakin's Oumou Toure Washington high school state basketball players of the year across all classifications on Wednesday.
Watson led Gonzaga Prep to a second consecutive 4A state title with wins over Federal Way in the semifinals and Mt. Si in the title game. The 6-foot-9 guard/forward is a Gonzaga University signee, four-star prospect and the No. 56 recruit in the country, according to ESPN.
Toure, a Butler signee, led Kamiakin to a third-place finish in the 3A state tournament with a 64-58 win over Garfield. The 5-foot-11 senior guard, whose Braves went 24-3, 15-1 in the Mid-Columbia Conference, became Kamiakin's leading scorer as a junior.
