EVERETT — Veronica Sheffey hit key free throws late in regulation and overtime as a part of her 19 points that helped Woodinville outlast Glacier Peak, 62-57, in Friday night’s 4A Wes-King district championship at Everett Community College.

Maya Erling led Glacier Peak with 22 points, and Aaliyah Collins went coast-to-coast to score the tying bucket in the final seconds of regulation to force overtime.

The game featured perhaps the top two teams in the state, both of which had already clinched berths to next week’s regional round of the state tournament.
