TUMWATER, Wash. — Reigning 2A state football champion Tumwater will enter the season with a target on its back as the favorite to repeat in the first full season since 2019.

On Friday, as programs across the state begin to tune up ahead of what is set to be a normal fall football schedule, several local teams got a crack at the T-Birds at Tumwater's team camp hosted on Sid Otton Field. North Thurston, Steilacoom, Timberline, Peninsula, Lincoln and Auburn Riverside were in the morning shift, playing a rotation of half field scrimmages.
