Playoff berths were determined, teams were sent home and the 2021 Washington high school football state brackets were set for the first time in two calendar years.
Also, there were many standout individual plays in the state preliminary round.

Tyson Weaver, Eastside Catholic: Returned two interceptions for touchdown in 42-0 win over Juanita.
Aiden Prado, Mount Spokane: Returned a tipped pass interception for touchdown to break open a 20-0 3A state preliminary round win over Gig Harbor.
Gavin Packer, Skyview: After Skyview’s top corner Jaydin Knapp went down with an injury, the freshman Packer got the call to fill his place with the season on the line, and responded by picking off a tipped pass in the endzone and returning it 103 yards for touchdown in a 28-7 win over Kamiak.
Kennedy McGill, North Creek: Electric dual-threat quarterback tossed touchdown pass to Rocco Traore as time expired and ran in the ensuing two-point. conversion. to. lift the Jaguars over Kennedy Catholic for their. first-ever state playoff berth.

Donte Grant, Puyallup: Not one, but two 68-yard interception returns for touchdown in a 35-14 win over Mount Si on the road.
