ALL-CLASS BOYS BASKETBALL TOP 25

Results as of Jan. 17 (results after Tuesday not factored in)

1. Garfield 11-0 (3A)

The Bulldogs added another item to its ever-impressive resume: a 37-point win over O'Dea. Even with Washington pledge Koren Johnson back, Garfield's gets contributions up and down its deep roster. Will anyone trip up the last remaining undefeated team in 3A?

2. Mount Si 11-0 (4A)

The Wildcats are deep, talent-laden and in addition to thrashing through the 4A KingCo, added double-digit wins over Bellevue, Seattle Prep and Tahoma. They get the nod over an Auburn team without guard Maleek Arington for the foreseeable future.

3. Auburn 11-1 (3A)

Tre Blassingame had 24 points and 14 boards again a Tahoma team with a significant height advantage down low.

4. Union 11-3 (4A)

Junior forward Yanni Fassilis is emerging as a truly dominant big, and is a force at the center of the Titans' 2-3 zone. The team is 7-0 since point guard Bryson Metz returned from an ankle sprain and have won games — including two 12-point wins against top-10 opponents — by an average of 24 points per game during that stretch.

5. Kamiakin 10-1 (4A)

Winner of five straight —including wins over Chiawana, Richland and Kennewick —since taking a loss to Mt. Spokane Dec. 29. Oregon State pledge Tyler Bilodeau is the MCC's leading scorer (24 points per game) and senior guard Trey Arland isn't far behind (17.4).

6. Mt. Spokane 11-2 (3A)

Scored a back-and-forth win over GSL foe Gonzaga Prep thanks to a late Ryan Lafferty 3. But with Ferris and University lurking, the final GSL stretch is looking to be a gauntlet.

7. Olympia 13-1 (4A)

Followed up its impressive nonleague slate with a 5-0 start to 4A SPSL play, most recently delivering a decisive win over Rogers (Puyallup) — a 16-point cushion after escaping Rogers on the road by two on Jan. 8.

8. O’Dea 10-2 (3A)

After taking a 37-point loss on the chin to No. 1 Garfield, O'Dea rebounded with a win over Blanchet. Mason Williams had 14 of his 21 points at the line/

9. West Seattle 8-1 (3A)

Dropped its first loss of the season at Seattle Prep and rebounded with a pair of double-digit wins. Backcourt duo Tayon Sessoms and Isaiah Watts lead the way into a showdown at Rainier Beach Friday that will reveal a lot.

10. Curtis 10-3 (4A)

It isn't always pretty — but a win's a win. The Vikings have won four straight after returning from a pause, including narrow wins over Sumner and Bellarmine Prep (twice). Cinque Maxwell (17 points per game) continues to be a nice complement to Tyce Paulsen, Zoom Diallo-led backcourt.

11. Rainier Beach 9-1 (3A)

Suffered its first loss to the year at the hands of Eastside Catholic, 57-51, proving just how deep the Metro League is. Home showdown with West Seattle Friday will reveal a lot.

12. Federal Way 7-2 (4A)

Navigating an up-and-down schedule mired by pauses and cancellations well. Rebounded from a five-point road loss to Glacier Peak in a late COVID reschedule with five straight wins by 25 or more.

13. Camas 9-2 (4A)

Rebounded from a 12-point loss at Union in which it led the majority of the game with a pair of double digit wins. Carson Frawley tied the single-game scoring record with 43 points on Tuesday at Evergreen — a mark first set in 1964 by Gary Ostenson.

14. Glacier Peak 7-1 (4A)

Freshman Joe Lee had the best game of his young career with 22 points in a win over Federal Way — a last-minute schedule add — and the Grizzlies added a win over Sumner in the King Classic Monday to add to strong start. Bobby Siebers a standout's standout.

15. Shorecrest 11-1 (1A)

Many believed the Elijah Johnson-led Scots were the 3A Wesco preseason favorite. They're still in good position, but the plot has thickened after an early loss to Arlington and a strong start from Mountlake Terrace.

16. Seattle Prep 9-4 (3A)

Led by a Trio of Braeden Smith, Tyler Mrus and Christian King, the Panthers handed West Seattle its first loss, then challenged but could not get over the hump in an 11-point loss to Mount Si Monday.

17. King’s 9-2 (1A)

Jordan Hansen is looking like an active college basketball player, word is getting out about standout freshman Cam Hiatt and the Knights continue to back down from no one. 4A Tahoma was its latest bigger-classification victim.

18. North Kitsap 10-2 (2A)

Jonas La Tour poured in a school record 57 points on — wait for it — 24 of 27 shooting in a blowout of Bainbridge Tuesday. The Vikings are back after several bumps in the schedule.

19. Skyline 8-1 (4A)

The Spartans debut after a hot start to the year with its toughest tasks yet ahead: Mount Si twice in nine days.

20. Jackson 10-2 (4A)

After a strong start to the season, took a 20-point loss to Mariner on the road Monday without Drilon Veliu, its second leading scorer. No time to dwell with a road game at Glacier Peak next.

21. R.A. Long 7-1 (2A)

Aaron Ofstun and Cavin Holden may get a lot of the attention — and deservedly so — but don't forget Jamond Harris, a four-year starter who is strong on both sides of the ball for the Lumberjacks and had a near-triple double against Hockinson.

21. Lynden 10-1 (2A)

The Lions are gelling well as a key back stretch of Northwest Conference play approaches. All six consecutive wins have been by a double-digit margin.

22. Gig Harbor 11-1 (3A)

Dropped its first of the season to league foe Timberline, then rebounded with a 19-point win over Central Kitsap.

23. Mount Tahoma 10-1 (3A)

Asjon Anderson continues to lead the state in scoring and senior point guard Ryan Tran is firing on all cylinders.

24. Lynden Christian 13-0 (1A)

Eked out wins over 2A Sehome and Stanwood to stay undefeated in an always-tough Northwest Conference.

25. Pullman 10-1 (2A)

Continues to run through the 2A GSL — convincingly.

Next three up: Ferris, Tumwater, Davis.
