After trailing all game, the Pioneers completed a sixth-inning comeback to beat Lakeside of Nine Mile Falls
RICHLAND, Wash. — Nooksack Valley junior Jayden Loreen drove in a go-ahead two-run single in the sixth inning to lift the Pioneers to the Class 1A state championship in come-from-behind fashion.
The 4-3 win over Lakeside of Nine Mile Falls was secured thanks to a big outing from senior pitcher Jordyn Relethford. The right-hander went the complete game with six strikeouts, five hits, three earned runs and no walks.
In the third place game, Eatonville beat Mount Baker 13-6.
