Look: Wing-T-based Bellevue churns out yards, more WIAA football titles
The Wolverines' 14-0 win over Yelm was the first shutout recorded in a Class 3A title game since 2010 when they also blanked, Kamiakin, 38-0
SEATTLE - The midnight-blue Wing-T machine that is Bellevue football collected another Class 3A football championship Friday night.
The Wolverines amassed 339 rushing yards, led by Carson Rubin's game-high 155 yards and a touchdown, and dethroned defending state champion Yelm, 14-0, at Husky Stadium.
It was Bellevue's 12th state title, tying Royal for most in state history.
Yelm played much of the game without all-state standout and Oregon commit Brayden Platt, who was ejected for throwing a punch at a Bellevue player with less than six minutes remaining in the first quarter.
