It's time once again for you to help us decide who is SBLive Sports National High School Lower Weight Wrestler of the Week.

Below are the details on the candidates we have selected for your consideration. Share this post with your friends, family, teammates and classmates and encourage everyone to support the wrestler they find most deserving. You can vote as often as you like and the winner will be announced in next week's poll. Voting ends on Sunday, February 4th at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific).

National top 25 high school wrestling rankings for every weight class (1/26/2024)

Here are this week's nominees:

Waylon Waite (Reynolds, PA) 114 – Waite defeated No. 22 Braiden Weaver (Altoona, PA) in the finals of the Ultimate Warrior Tournament, 4-3 TB2.

Connor Lenahan (Council Rock South, PA) 114 – Lenahan, who is unranked nationally, downed Alexander Diaz (Council Rock North, PA) 5-2 in the SOL Patriot Classic finals. Diaz is ranked No. 23 at 106lbs.

Jax Forrest (Bishop McCort, PA) 125 – competing unattached at the Mat Town Open, Forrest beat the NCAA’s top ranked 125lber, Lehigh’s Luke Stanich, 8-1 in overtime. It was 1-1 entering the OT frame when Forrest got a TD plus four near-fall points for the victory.

National high school wrestling news, notes, updates (1/29/2023)

Isaiah Jones (Bixby, OK) 126 – Jones, who is honorable mention at 120, met Ponca City’s Chris Kiser (No. 13 at 120) in the 126lb final of the Big 4+4 Tournament. Jones beat Kiser in the preseason Bixby Open, 5-2. But given Kiser’s Fargo championship and what has happened since, Jones found himself looking up at Kiser in the rankings going into Saturday’s showdown.

Gavin Navida (Poway, CA) 132 – Navida picked up a key win over Buchanan’s Paris Ruiz (HM), 6-4, at 132 in Poway’s big dual meet win over it’s state rival on Saturday afternoon.

Anthony Mutarelli (Council Rock South, PA) 133 – No. 9 Mutarelli won the Escape the Rock tournament at 127lbs and No. 11 Eren Sement (Council Rock North) was fourth in the same bracket, but they did not meet. That changed in the finals of the SOL Patriot Classic with both wrestlers at 133, Mutarelli authored a 1-0 win over Sement.

Kolter Burton (Century, ID) 138 – In the finals of the Red Halverson Tournament, No. 20 Burton pinned No. 19 Carson Exferd (Nampa, ID) 21 seconds into the overtime portion of the match. At Rollie Lane, Exferd defeated Burton, 3-2.
