Dave Roberts Calls New Dodgers Signee a "Joy" Early in Camp

The Dodgers got themselves a good one.

One of the Dodgers' big offseason additions that has somewhat fallen under the radar is their signing of outfielder Teoscar Hernández. Hernández joined the team on a one-year deal and brings a whole new type of identity to this team.

He plays with flair and excitement, something that the Dodgers have lacked at times over the years. Hernández adds to the already strong lineup that Los Angeles has, and he gives them a power bat from the right side of the plate.

The veteran slugger has made his career off his impressive power, earning a spot on the All-Star team in 2022. He joins a Dodgers team deadset on having World Series aspirations, and thus far, he seems very comfortable.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praised how Hernández has been fitting in with the team thus far.

"Dave Roberts went out of his way to call Teoscar Hernández “a joy,” which seems to fit the reports from his time in Seattle, as well."

Hernández has been known as a fun person to have in the locker room, and he will help energize this team. We've already seen him playing around with Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, teaching them some Spanish.

This team already feels very close, and it should help on the field. Hernández just needs to play his game, and let the rest take care of itself.
